Our cloud-based platform allows education leaders to capture, organize, analyze, and share classroom observation data in an intuitive interface, making it easy to identify teacher trends and take action to help teachers improve. We work with some of the most innovative school districts in the country (and a few overseas!) to accelerate teacher growth because we know how much is at stake for kids and families. And we’re expanding. Fast. We doubled this year and are on track to do so again next year.

The Role

The Partnerships Representative will contribute as a critical member of the Partnerships Team to execute a national sales strategy to increase Whetstone’s market share. The Partnerships Representative will work toward predetermined revenue goals by developing and implementing direct marketing and direct sales campaigns, working to generate and convert leads through both inbound and outbound sales activities.

The expected start date for this position is February 13, 2019.


  • Take ownership of and meet or exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts

  • Increase brand awareness of Whetstone to school and district leaders nationwide to support lead generation

  • Represent Whetstone at education conferences and convenings

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships

  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives

  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of Whetstone through proposals and presentations

  • Support the development of company infrastructure.

  • Update the CRM and automation systems to support sales activities

  • Less than 20% travel expected


  • College degree required

  • Minimum five years work experience required

  • Experience in sales, marketing, or business operations preferred

  • School-based experience or experience selling in the education market preferred

  • Excellent communicator and systems-oriented creative thinker

  • Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and work well under pressure

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • The desire to hustle at a fast-growing start-up

  • New Orleans-based required

Whetstone offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance. This role will combine a competitive salary plus the opportunity to earn a commission.
